Genres & Taste of Music

  There's different types of genres of music that individuals like, majority of us know the genre rap, which is famous because of many rappers share there life experience. Everyone has a different taste in music which makes them special, personally the music that seems to attract to us  is R&B, but majority of people don't think that way. This generation seems to like electronic music a lot, Electronic music is just sounds without words, many of those who listen seems to calm them down and others it seems to give them an adrenaline rush, but on the other hand there are those who don't seem to enjoy that genre of music. There are those who admire the genre of hip-hop, they like the way the artist uses rhyme and simile in there lyrics many people enjoy the beat that goes with it.certain individuals want a song to be catchy as well as the beat. Others listen to it cause that's how they feel at that exact moment, as most of the individuals we meet they have a certain and personal taste and those who have a very prefered type of music.

Benefits and downfalls of musical impact on society

Whether positive, negative, or neutral, Music has impacts on people around the world. 



The benefits of musical impact on our society are the calming effects are:

1: Certain types of songs can make someone enlightened and feel the music

When listening to a happy song a person will tend to move with the music or sing along and start to feel happy. This is good for individuals who are feeling sad or want to keep their bodies moving in an exciting and fun way. With the motion and happiness expressed in others by music, music could be used as an efficient substitute to exercise and a great way to make a group of people happy.


2: Music can motivate someone to achieve life goals and certain tasks

Music has a motivational impact on our minds and bodies that manipulates us to work harder to achieve our goals. This is useful for those executing a workout exercise and need a motivating factor. When a person is at a low point on the workout, the person can play workout music or motivational music and he/she will be motivated to turn the tide of the situation and achieve their goal.

The downfalls of musical impact on our society are:

1: Certain types of music can have an unhealthy impact on a person's mood

When listening to a sad song a person will tend to cry and get into a temporary sad state of mind others describe as "getting in their feelings." This is bad for listeners of this type of music for the reason being that sad music can leave people with long term effects which can impact a person negatively such as depression. Depression from sad music can lead to physical fatigues such as lack of food because of refusing to eat, lack of energy because the individual stays up from the depression and sickness because mood can affect an individual's immune system. If not careful an individual listener can even get suicidal thoughts and end them-self. Therefore, sad music can have unhealthy and even deadly impacts on our society.

2: Music can distract individuals from the outside world

While an individual listener listens to their desired song they might not be aware of their surroundings which can be both dangerous and disrespectful to family members and friends. An Example of the dangerous and potential deadly impact of music distracting listeners is that An individual can be crossing down a street while listening to music and they are not aware of their surroundings. This is dangerous and potentially deadly to listeners because a car crashing an individual can lead to concussions, broken bones, paralysis, or even death. An Example of listening to music being distracting and disrespectful is that an individual listener can be distracted listening to music while in household and family members are around. This behavior can be disrespectful to the family members especially if they desire family time. All listeners of music need to balance music and the outside world surrounding them to make sure they do not encounter harm or broken friendships or relationships.

   Most of us absolutely love music. We are compelled by it. We are provoked by it.We are moved by it. We are inspired by it. We feel connected to it. It reflects something profound about who we are and our experience of the world. If I asked you to tell me your favorite bands, musicians, or genres, most of you could quickly reply with a list of beloved artists. Our favorite singers captivate us with lyrics that have powerful message and sounds that touch us in some special way. In fact most of us have playlist for a low-key night at home; an energetic playlist for workout; a somber playlist for contemplative moments; and an angry playlist that we reach for when we need to scream.
  Given the emotionally charged nature of music, it can be incredibly effective way to express ourselves and cope with challenging life circumstances. Because sometimes life is really hard. Really hard. Whether it be conflict with family, ending a our knees with pain, sadness,and confusion.
  This is particularly true if you are actively working on being more honest with yourself. Self-deception, at the most basic level, is a protective mechanism : its role is to keep us safe and secure. Often unconsciously, lying to ourselves protests us from knowing truths that, we are going to feel worse before we feel better. Feeling some discomfit is an inescapable part of the process of becoming more honest with ourselves.
 In these tough life moments, music can be a constructive way to express who are and what you are feeling particulary sad about a reality in your life, listen to a song that  connects you to that emotion if you are angry, grab a pillow and hit is as hard as you can while listening to your favorite lyrics.

Should artist watch what they say in their song? We don't think so, here are some reasons why people should have the right to say what they want in their music. The first reason is this is how they can finally express themselves without them getting into trouble. People are always complaining how  kids are acting out, and  breaking the laws. Now people and parents want to try and tell them they can’t use foul language in the thing they love to do. how would you like it for example if you owned a business and someone is telling you what you can or cannot do. How you feel, it would be the same feeling the artist would be feeling because no one should have the right to take away your freedom of speech. On the other hand, we understand the perspective that the parent is looking from. We know if we had a child you would not want them to be listening to the foul music. It can influence the kids to do bad things like they hear in the music. For example, drugs and cursing. As a mother that’s scary but you cant take it out on the artist and try and tell them they can’t use foul language. So no we do not think artist should watch what they can in their music. one can hope, individuals should be insisted upon whether boundaries should be made to what their kids listen to.

 Music is formed to get things across people and make them known about what is going on in the world. Artist like Tupac had messages left and right about his music and what going on in the real world. He speaks about his mother and the hardships of raising two kids without their father and the struggle of him not growing up without a father. Messages like these get to people because they can relate to them and understand where the artist is coming from. On the other hand, now we have artists that talk about money and inappropriate things, and that's the type of music this generation likes. Now those are messages people can relate to too, but there's no real meaning, of what they have been through or signs of accomplishments that they've done to show us why we should care so much about how much money you have Sometimes people don't even understand why this person is rapping about this because, the main thing artists are trying to do is bring your attention to the music by putting catchy words and signs in it, but not focusing on what people might think when they hear what the song really means. Having messages in a song could be a good thing, but also be a bad thing at the same time. If someone is sending the right message then we can really understand the concept of the song, but if its the wrong message then we don't care about what they are talking about , we care how many times we can sing the song over and over again. People should be urged to have the right message behind their music so people can really understand where they are coming from

 1. Relatable melodies: 

• Retatable melodies is music that you can compare your life too and make comparisons and understand what the what the artist is trying to say in their song.
• Some examples that will paint a better picture in your head is when people listen to love melodies most of those songs are slow and soft lyrics and beats.

  2. Emotional affect:

• Emotional affect is the mood  the music gives you. 
• An example of an emotional effect music provides to its audience is that certain listeners can get sad by listening to the song lonely by Akon. While you were feeling down you wouldn't listen to Hip Hop.

 

   3. Popularity of artists: 

• The 5 most popular artists of 2019 are: Ariana Grande, Drake, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars.

                                         
 4. The age groups:

• An age group is a group of people who have similar ages and are usually grouped to express similar interest in a topic or are used as the target audience for a brand.
• Once you hear a song that you use to listen to as  kid it can take when you first heard it and give you same feeling you had before.

                                       

   5. The catchiness of the song: 

• How well you can catch on to the song and if you can just listen to it and then follow the beat.
• An example of a catchy song is the macarena which repeats the same lyrics over and over  to where you understand the song.
• The macarena uses repetition for you to follow along with the song and dance.







• People dancing to the macarena because everyone can dance to it and everyone knows it.
